WORSHIP WITH US!
Please join us in the village on Sunday mornings at 10AM for worship!
Are you looking for a place to worship? Join us in the village! Everyone is welcome.
Whether you are new to the area or a long-time resident, new to attending church, looking for a new place to worship or trying to get back to church after a long time away, a family with young children, single or empty-nesting, young or old, you will find a home at the church in the village! If you are looking for a church family, we would love to have you join us! We are located in the Rehoboth village - just down the road from the library.
Worship at RCC is a blend of traditional with new ideas. We sing everyone's favorite old hymns, like Amazing Grace! and Old Rugged Cross, but will also find any excuse to integrate showtunes and Beatles songs into our order of worship. Sometimes the altar looks simple, with nothing but a subtle floral arrangement and two candles and sometimes we do big and dramatic fabric installations. We sing and say prayers together. One of the Deacons reads a passage of scripture and then Rev. Sarah talks about it in her sermon. We share names of people we are praying for and then say the Lord's Prayer. During the program year, Rev. Sarah invites the children to the front of the church for a children's sermon (a tradition we are all looking forward to getting back to now that we are worshiping in person again!). We also sing a lot! We sing when we pray, when we baptize and when we welcome new members. We bless everything from prayer shawls to backpacks to bottled water and we share Communion on the first Sunday of every month.
ARE MASKS REQUIRED?
Masks are optional at The Rehoboth Congregational Church!
It is important to us at RCC that we foster an environment where it is okay for everyone to do what feels right for them and their families. If you feel more comfortable wearing a mask, please know that you will be supported and encouraged.
ARE MY KIDS WELCOME?
Yes! We believe not only that children are the future of the church, but that they are the present, as well! We love seeing and hearing children of all ages in the sanctuary, experiencing worship and learning about God.
During the program year, children are invited to begin worship in the sanctuary with their parents. After the first hymn and Prayer of Confession, the Pastor will invite them to the front of the church for a children's sermon. At the end of the sermon, they will be dismissed downstairs to Church School.
During the summer months Church School is on hiatus and children are invited to remain in worship with their parents. There are coloring pages and toys in the narthex that they are welcome to grab at any point! But please don't worry about them making noise or fidgeting - sometimes adults get a little restless, too!
There are coloring pages and "busy boxes" available in the narthex that children are welcome to grab at any time during the service. Please do not worry about noise or fidgeting - sometimes us adults get restless too!
